Minnesota Lynx

The Minnesota Lynx, the state's all women basketball team, was founded in 1999 and is one of 14 teams which comprise the WNBA.  The Minnesota Lynx are the sister team to the Minnesota Timberwolves.  Both teams share the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis, a state-of-the-art venue that seats 20,500 spectators.

The Minnesota Lynx have had some growing pains in their short history.  The team's highlights include back-to-back playoff runs in 2003 and 2004 though both attempts ended after the first round.  The lower points occured again in back-to-back seasons (2006 and 2007) where the team finished both years at 10-24, tying the league's worst scores.

In the 2008 season, the Minnesota Lynx basketball team ended with a season record of 13-13 and their upcoming season promises to keep the momentum rolling toward wins rather than losses.  Under the leadership of head coach, Don Zierden, the Minnesota Lynx have been recruiting and developing their roster.  Players to watch include Nicky Anosike, Noelle Quinn, and LaToya Thomas.
