Timberwolves Jonny Flynn Rookie Team Shines

By Timberwolves #1 Fan (02/15/2010 09:54 AM)

The Timberwolves didn't have any players in the NBA All-Star game, but there were Wolves players representing the team in various events including the NBA Rookie Challenge which pitted Wolves Rookie Jonny Flynn against Wolves sophomore Kevin Love. Jonny Flynn and the Rookie team came out on top with a 140-128 victory. Flynn had seven assists and earned plenty of bragging rights. Kevin Love did well for the NBA sophomore team with 12 points, but Timberwolves fans know that victory is the most important factor and Jonny Flynn won't be quiet about the Rookie team beating the sophomores.

Timberwolves Jonny Flynn Hero Status

By Timberwolves Fan (12/15/2009 10:46 AM)

Rookie Jonny Flynn was the hero of last nights Timberwolves Jazz game after he scored the game winning basket with just three seconds left on the clock. The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Utah Jazz on the road 110-108. The winning basket was a driving layup with a one handed bank shot over the rim and was the perfect end to a career high 28 point game for Jonny Flynn.

Timberwolves big man Al Jefferson celebrated the victory by hoisting Jonny Flynn into the air as the Wolves left the court. It was quite a sight and I am thinking that it sure feels good to be a Timberwolves fan right now!

There are two Timberwolves home games this week and that means two opportunities to see another superior performance by Jonny Flynn and the rest of the Timberwolves roster. I just may bring a sign to the Target Center that reads "Who wants to play chicken with Big Al and Jonny?"

Hope to see you at the game Timberwolves fans!

Kevin Love Returns, Will Timberwolves Fan Support Follow?

By www.timberwolvestickets.com (12/07/2009 10:54 AM)

You bet it will. Kevin Love returned to the Target Center floor Saturday night and the place went nuts. Timberwolves fans were happy to have Kevin Love back and he showed them why they should be when he came off the bench and produced 16 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and one assist in 26 minutes of play. Kevin Love's leadership and enthusiasm kept the Timberwolves team from falling apart late in the third or fourth quarter as they have done several times this season.

Timberwolves Roster Changes Continue At Rapid Pace

By Timberwolves Tickets (09/22/2009 03:48 PM)

Since coming to Minnesota, General Manager David Kahn has orchestrated trades and signings involving 20 different players, some of them twice. Talk about a revolving door roster, but at last weeks press conference David Kahn indicated we are almost done.

"We're almost done, I think we are starting to accumulate some really fine young talent." David Kahn stated.

Strap on your seat belts Timberwolves fans, David Kahn is not afraid to mix up the Timberwolves Roster. If this group of guys doesn't work out, David Kahn isn't going to wait around for new guys, he's going to go out and find them himself.

Our official Timberwolves roster author is waiting to see what other changes David Kahn will be making before writing any more Timberwolves player profiles.

Ramon Sessions is a 6 foot 3 inch guard that led the Milwaukee Bucks in assists last year. As a second year NBA veteran, Ramon Sessions has already shown that he can perform at the NBA level, but is still a young 23 years old.

"We believe, like our team, his best days are ahead of him"

-David Kahn

The Timberwolves roster probably isn't finished changing yet so check back often to Timberwolves tickets and see what other personnel moves the Wolves might make.

Ricky Rubio Will Remain In Spain

By Timberwolves Basketball Fan (09/01/2009 02:19 PM)

Minnesota Timberwolves basketball fans are feeling a bit of disappointment that our No. 5 draft pick, Ricky Rubio, will not be putting on a Timberwolves uniform this season.

Ricky Rubio has chosen to remain in Spain and play for Regal FC Barcelona for the next two seasons. It was a much agonized decision and Timberwolves fans are definitely disappointed, but at least now we can focus our basketball energy on another outstanding young point guard, Jonny Flynn. Timberwolves manager David Kahn isn't looking so crazy for drafting both of them now that Rubio is staying in Spain for two more years.

Hopefully Jonny Flynn can step into the Timberwolves point guard position and make a big impact on the Target Center court. We will be updating the Timberwolves roster soon, but I don't think you have seen the last change before the opening jump ball.

Where in the World is Ricky Rubio

By Timberwolves Tickets (08/03/2009 12:36 PM)

There is plenty of speculation still surrounding the Timberwolves first round draft pick Ricky Rubio. Where Ricky Rubio will play basketball this season is still up in the air, but it probably won't be for his current Spanish team who is quoted as saying, "It is obvious that his career as a player in our club has ended."

According to several media reports, Ricky Rubio has received offers from several European basketball organizations. It's hard to say where Ricky Rubio will end up, but I know Timberwolves fans are hoping it's in Minneapolis sooner rather than later.

Keep checking Timberwolves Tickets for more Ricky Rubio news, we have our top staffers on "Rubio Watch."

Timberwolves Roster Watch

By Timberwolves Ticket Site (07/28/2009 02:35 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are attempting to add some size to their front line by signing 7 - foot tall Dallas Maverick Ryan Hollins. Reports are that the Timberwolves offer was $7 million over 3 years.

"We are excited about the opportunity to have Ryan Hollins on our team," David Kahn said in statement. "He is a lengthy, athletic center with a lot of upside who should complement Al Jefferson and Kevin Love really well."

You can bet the Timberwolves Roster moves aren't over yet. It will be interesting to see what the final team (including a new head coach!) can do on the Target Center floor come October.

Timberwolves Trade Mark Madsen

By Timberwolves Tickets (07/21/2009 11:46 AM)

The Timberwolves traded Mark Madsen, Craig Smith and Sebastian Telfair to the Los Angeles Clippers for Quentin Richardson. The trade clears almost $8 million in contracts off the books and creates plenty of salary cap flexibility.

Quentin Richardson is a 29 year old, 6'6" shooting guard who played most of last season with Memphis Grizzlies and was traded to Minnesota just three days after the Clippers acquired him.

You can bet this won't be the last Timberwolves roster move we see. Stay Tuned Wolves fans.

Timberwolves Head Coach List

By www.timberwolvestickets.com (07/09/2009 03:44 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves head coach job is still open and according to several sources, the list of potential candidates is still pretty long.

Timberwolves General Manager David Kahn reported this week that:

"I have spoken to four individuals and expect to speak to approximately a half-dozen to eight more."

The staff over here at Timberwolves Tickets hopes the Timberwolves head coach decision will be made soon and we hope it is someone we can get excited about. It's time for a Timberwolves Rally!

Timberwolves Roster Changes, Draft Day Updates

By Timberwolves Fan (06/30/2009 12:49 PM)

The Timberwolves Roster will certainly look different next year and this Timberwolves fan isn't sure we have seen all the changes happen yet.

David Kahn has been busy moving bodies around including trading Randy Foye and Mike Miller to the Washington Wizards for the fifth round draft pick plus three other players.

On NBA Draft Day, the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted phenom guard Ricky Rubio from Spain as the No. 5 draft pick overall and drafted Syracuse sophomore Jonny Flynn as the No. 6 pick. The Wolves also addedd Wayne Ellington of North Carolina to the Timberwolvs roster in the first round.

The Wolves will once again be a young developing team next year. New General Manager David Kahn has promised to work tirelessly to turn this Timberwolves team into a championship team, but so far it looks like it will be in the future and perhaps not the near future.

There is plenty of speculation surrounding the possibility of another trade perhaps for a veteran player. There are also doubts regarding if Ricky Rubio will even play for the Timberwolves next season due to contract issues in Spain.

I know I will want to buy Timberwolves Tickets just to see what this young Minnesota Timberwolves team will look like next season!

Timberwolves Player Updates, but no Head Coach decision....yet

By Timberwolves Tickets (06/16/2009 11:40 AM)

New Timberwolves GM David Kahn has been meeting with the media to discuss all things Timberwolves except whether Kevin McHale will be the new Timberwolves head coach or not. David Kahn said the decision to keep McHale as the Timberwolves head coach next season is still "in the process" of being decided.

David Kahn did mention that Timberwolves player Al Jefferson is ahead of schedule in rehabbing his torn ACL and is expected to be ready at the start of training camp. That is good news for Timberwolves fans that have missed "Big Al" on the Timberwolves court.

The NBA Draft is right around the corner (June 25) so stay tuned to Timberwolves Tickets for Timberwolves draft updates and, of course, any news on who will be the Timberwolves new head coach...or if the old head coach will remain with the team.

Timberwolves Home Game Victory

By Timberwolves Tickets (03/30/2009 11:10 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves showed off for the home crowd yesterday defeating the New Jersey Nets 108-99 at the Target Center. Scoring big for the Timberwolves was Mike Miller who sunk 22 points, Ryan Gomes added 21 and Rodney Carney tallied 19 of his own.

The fast paced shooting efforts were fun to watch and the Timberwolves home crowd really got into the game. The Wolves showed great energy and if you haven't seen #33 Mike Miller lately, you need to make plans to see what he has been up to. Millers' shooting has come around lately and it's making the Timberwolves a fun team to watch.

Read what Timberwolves Tickets.com customer

Robert P. had to say:

I bought Timberwolves tickets from your site and I just wanted to thank you for the fast service and cheap honest prices. I have bought tickets on-line before and was always disappointed with all the added "convenience" fees, even the Timberwolves themselves tack on added fees, but you guys didn't have that. The price was what it was. I bought cheap upper level seats from you and then moved down to some empty lower level seats after the start of the game. It was cheap entertainment and even though the Wolves lost, I was glad I took my son to a game. Thanks again. I would tell other people to use your site. Go Wolves.

Minnesota Timberwolves sign Ryan Gomes

By Timberwolves Fan (08/06/2008 01:48 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves signed 6 foot 7 inch forward Ryan Gomes to a five year deal reportedly worth more than $21 million. Last year for the Wolves, Ryan Gomes averaged 12.6 points and 5.8 rebounds a game. The Minnesota Timberwolves hope by signing key players to long term deals the team chemistry will remain strong for years to come and that a playoff berth will happen sooner rather than later.

Is it time for Timberwolves fans to trade in that old blue and white #21 Kevin Garnett jersey for a new one? you betcha'! and a #8 Ryan Gomes jersey would be a worthy replacement. Go Wolves!

Timberwolves sign Sebastian Telfair

By Timberwolves Tickets (07/24/2008 10:49 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves inked a deal with point guard Sebastian Telfair that will last until at least 2011. Sebastian Telfair started his career in Minnesota as part of the Kevin Garnett trade, but got a chance to make an impact after Randy Foye was injured early in the season. Telfair played 60 games for the Timberwolves, starting 51. He averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game, finishing the season ranked 10th in the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.20-to-1). Many Timberwolves fans may have forgotten Sebastian Telfair since he missed the final 21 games due to an ankle injury. Sebastian Telfair says he is now 100% healthy and ready to make Timberwolves fans take notice again.

Timberwolves start summer league play

By Timberwolves Tickets (07/16/2008 02:37 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are busy in Las Vegas playing in their annual five-game summer league. Newest Timberwolf, Kevin Love, got his chance to play his first NBA game as the summer league Timberwolves lost to the Mavericks 74-88. Love scored 18 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. He is quoted as saying he doesn't like to lose so it will be interesting to keep an eye on him through the rest of the games to see if he can turn it up a notch and inspire his Timberwolves team to turn it up as well. Timberwolves second year player Corey Brewer only scored a disappointing 11 points. Let's hope the Wolves can continue to work hard right into training camp.

Timberwolves Roster Still Changing

By Timberwolves Tickets (07/10/2008 11:17 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves roster continues to change and many fans don't think it is over yet.  Most recently, the Timberwolves completed a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers that added Rodney Carney and Calvin Booth to the Timberwolves roster. Many Timberwolves fans doubt either player will make a huge difference on the team. Carney is a former first round pick and is looking forward to playing the up-tempo style of the young Timberwolves team, but he will be competing for court time with Mike Miller, Corey Brewer and Rashad McCants.

Kevin Love and Mike Miller join Minnesota Timberwolves

By Timberwolves Tickets (07/01/2008 02:51 PM)

The NBA Draft was a big event for the Minnesota Timberwolves. As fans held their breath, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected O.J. Mayo as their third overall draft pick only to turn around and use Mayo as the pivotal piece in an eight player deal with the Memphis Grizzlies. After the dust settled, the Minnesota Timberwolves ended up with 6-10 forward Kevin Love and 6-8 guard Mike Miller. As part of the deal, the Wolves also acquired forward Brian Cardinal and center Jason Collins from the Grizzlies, with Memphis receiving guards Marko Jaric and Greg Buckner, and forward Antoine Walker.

NBA DraftWith the NBA Draft just a few days away, Minnesota Timberwolves fans can't help but speculate who the Timberwolves will select with their third overall pick. The big question is, will Minnesota stay at No. 3 and grab O.J. Mayo, Brook Lopez, Kevin Love or someone else? The Timberwolves also have the No. 31 and No. 34 overall picks and many Timberwolves analysts are predicting that the Wolves may package those two spots to select another player in the first round. Sioux Falls Development League

By Timberwolves Tickets (06/11/2008 10:46 AM)

The NBA announced that for the third year in a row the Sioux Falls Skyforce will remain the Timberwolves development league team. The Timberwolves have used Sioux Falls to help develop players in past including last year when they sent rookie Chris Richard to Sioux Falls at the end of January for a one month stint. During his time in the D-League, Richard played in six Sioux Falls Skyforce games helping the team win four of those contests. Kevin McHale is quoted as saying, "We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with the Sioux Falls Skyforce as our D-League affiliate. The D-League continues to be a great opportunity for young players to improve all facets of their game, benefiting both the players and the NBA teams."

By Timberwolves Tickets (05/21/2008 01:24 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves will select third overall, exactly where they had been slotted entering the lottery Tuesday night. Who will be the Timberwolves draft pick is still up in the air. Timberwolves vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale said, "Our goal remains to put the Wolves back among the NBA's elite teams, and the third pick in this year's draft will be a valuable asset as we continue down that road."

Timberwolves Draft Choice still unclear

By Timberwolves Ticket (05/14/2008 12:46 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a 13.8 percent chance of getting the first pick in the NBA draft in June. The big question on Timberwolves fans minds is, who will the Timberwolves select?

The consensus two months ago was that 6'10" Kansas State power forward Michael Beasley was the likely choice for the number one pick.  He's big and he can score. But a late charge by Memphis point guard Derrick Rose has dramatically changed the game. Rose was a dominant force in the NCAA tournament and also boasts excellent athleticism and leadership abilities.

Timberwolves Target Center games

By Timberwolves Tickets (03/14/2008 12:22 PM)

The Timberwolves Schedule is full of fabulous games in March. A scheduling oddity has the Timberwolves hosting the Trailblazers last night and now having to travel to Oregon themselves to face off against Kevin Durant in Seattle vs. the Seattle SuperSonics and then remain in Oregon to play the Portland Trailblazers again before returning home.

The Timberwolves will then play two Target Center games:

>>> Mon Mar 17 vs. Los Angeles Clippers

>>> Wed Mar 19 vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Timberwolves tickets are cheap and what better way to spend St Patrick's Day than hanging out at the Target Center. Let's hope the Timberwolves will have the Clippers seeing green! Go Wolves!

The Minnesota Timberwolves played two solid games on the road last week and won, yes won, both games. The Timberwolves beat the Sacramento Kings 111-103 and the Los Angeles Clippers 99-96. It was the first time the Timberwolves won back-to-back games on the road this season. The victories happily snapped a five game losing streak.

Minnesota Wolves point guard Randy Foye made a couple of key baskets in the fourth quarter of the Clippers game to propel the Timberwolves team to victory. Foye ended the night with a season-high 26 points. Al Jefferson scored 30 points against the Clippers.

Unfortunately for Minnesota Timberwolves fans, the Timberwolves could not win at home against the Portland Trailblazers last night. The Wolves dropped the contest 96-103 after playing poorly late in the fourth quarter.

This Timberwolves fan hopes we can still have the chance to see the Minnesota Timberwolves win three in a row this season! Go Wolves!

Timberwolves lose twice at Target Center

By Timberwolves Tickets (02/26/2008 12:20 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost two consecutive Western Conference games on their home Target Center court. The Wolves lost a tight match-up on Thursday to the San Antonio Spurs 99-100 and then lost to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday 83-99.

On Thursday night, Target Center patrons stayed until the final buzzer to see if their Minnesota Timberwolves could pull off a home court victory.

In regards to the Sunday Dallas Mavericks game, the Star Tribune reported that "an announced sellout crowd streamed toward the exits well before the Dallas Mavericks walked from the court with a 99-83 victory... Jason Kidd delivered a 17-assist, four-steal performance in only his third game back with the franchise that drafted him second overall in 1994, but it was his buzzer-beating three-pointer that ended the first quarter and foreshadowed an evening when the Wolves lost their focus, their composure and ultimately their 43rd game in 54 this season."

Timberwolves lose to Boston Celtics

By www.timberwolvestickets.com (02/12/2008 04:57 PM)

TimberwolfKevin Garnett made his appearance at the Target Center, albeit a short one. Garnett didn't play in the Timberwolves Celtics game, but he did give his fans a chance to shower him with applause. The Timberwolves lost to the Boston Celtics in the final seconds after Celtic Leon Powe made a dramatic lay-up to put the Celtics into the lead 88-86 with no time on the clock.

After winning 5-of-7 games in an impressive stretch, the Wolves lost consecutive tough games against solid Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics teams, and then lost to the Toronto Raptors in an 82-105 blow out.

The Wolves get a chance to get back in the win column with a Tuesday night game in New Jersey, followed by a Wednesday night game at Target Center vs. the L.A. Lakers.

Timberwolves get another Target Center win

By Timberwolves Basketball (02/05/2008 11:54 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves got another Target Center win last Friday night when they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-83. Al Jefferson scored 25 points and Craig Smith added 21 of his own. Former Timberwolf Sam Cassell led the Clippers with 17 points, but most of the Clippers big scorers are out due to injury and the flu. It was the fifth win in seven games for the improving Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves basketball team couldn't manage a sixth win vs. the Houston Rockets, though. The Timberwolves lost to the Rockets on Monday night 86-92. The Rockets are a tough team for the Wolves this year, the Rockets beat the Timberwolves 113-82 back on January 11th in one of the worst Timberwolves games of the season.

Next up for the Wolves are the Boston Celtics at the Target Center Friday night. Go Wolves!

Timberwolves Split Chicago Series

By Timberwolves Fan (02/01/2008 11:46 AM)

After losing to the Chicago Bulls in Chicago 85-96, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Bulls back on the Target Center court 83-67. Clearly the Wolves took advantage of being on their own hardwood and shut down the Bulls in front of the Target Center crowd. The Timberwolves started out slow scoring only 8 points in the first quarter, but turned up the heat in the second half.

Both Ryan Gomes and Al Jefferson heated up in the third and ended up scoring 51 of the team's 85 points. The Target Center victory is the third victory in a row at home for the Timberwolves. With the Timberwolves playing so strongly, I am sure the Timberwolves Ticket market will heat up! Go Wolves!

Wolves go on a winning streak

By Timbewolves Fan (01/25/2008 11:00 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves officially have a winning streak! The Wolves took it to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night to get their second win in a row. The Suns team including coach Mike D'Antoni has said today that the loss was "an embarrassment," but whether it was poor play by the Suns or exceptional play by the Wolves, the win sure feels good.

The Wolves were able to hold on to a big lead in the fourth quarter after they pulled ahead 60-39 at one point in the first half. Usually the Wolves aren't the hottest team at the starts of games, but a big first half by Al Jefferson ensured the Wolves first-half superiority. The Wolves will go for three in a row Friday night in Boston vs. Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics.

Timberwolves win on the road

By Timerwolves Tickets (01/22/2008 12:36 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves made a big splash in Oakland last night beating the Golden State Warriors by one point 109-108. All five Timberwolves starters scored in double figures including a career-high 35 points from Ryan Gomes and 21 points from Al Jefferson. The Wolves played hard and it paid off, but just barely. With just 6.9 seconds left, Golden State's Baron Davis went for a layup to give the Warriors the lead, but blew it. The Timberwolves were excited to get the road victory.

Next on the Timberwolves schedule is a match-up vs. Phoenix Suns at the Target Center tomorrow night.  The Timberwolves have had success with the Suns this season just barely losing to them last week in Phoenix and beating them last December at the Target Center. This should be a good game to watch Timberwolves fans!

Twolves lose at Target Center, hit the road

By Timberwolves Fan (01/17/2008 12:18 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost to Golden State Warriors 98-105 at Target Center. The Timberwolves now hit the road for a match-up against the Phoenix Suns and then the Denver Nuggets. The Wolves will have a chance to rematch the Warriors on Monday January 21st at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Let's hope the Timberwolves team can pull off a win.

One thing the Minnesota Timberwolves could benefit from is better shooting from the field and the three-point arc overall, as other teams are out-shooting them by almost .030 percentage points from the field this season. Al Jefferson could also use some help on the glass, as both Craig Smith and Corey Brewer are averaging less than five rebounds a game this year.

Al Jefferson update

By Timberwolves Fan N. Backus (01/11/2008 11:29 AM)

Al Jefferson has clearly established himself as top dog in Minnesota since the Kevin Garnett trade. Jefferson demands the ball in the low post in crunch time but it hasn't been enough for the Timberwolves this season. Jefferson fills up the stat line nearly every night, including an explosive effort against the Phoenix Suns on December 8 that included 32 points and 20 rebounds. Through thirty games, Jefferson leads the team with 36.4 minutes, 20.4 points and 12.1 rebounds. He is also third on the team in steals with 1.1 and second on the team in blocks with 1.3. Jefferson should continue to shoulder the load as the season progresses and Timberwolves fans should buy a ticket to see him in action on the floor! Buy Timberwovles Tickets today!

Timberwolves beat Miami Heat at Target Center

By Timberwolves Tickets.com (01/10/2008 11:23 AM)

Timberwolves basketballThe Minnesota Timberwolves finally got win number five beating the Miami Heat at the Target Center 101-91. The young Timberwolves team took the ailing Heat team by storm. Rashad McCants led the Twolves team with 27 points, but the other guys chipped in as well ending the night with five total players scoring double digits. Miami was without its big guy Shaquille O'Neal for the sixth straight game, but the Timberwolves played well with their big guy Al Jefferson who added 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Wolves now head out on the road for a pair of road games. Go Wolves!

Playing the Wolves is a night off

By Timberwolves Fan N. Backus (01/03/2008 11:40 AM)

Teams have often played down to the Minnesota Timberwolves poor standards this year through the first three quarters, but come crunch time, the good teams realize that they must win the game. Over a grueling 82 game season, good NBA teams realize that playing the Minnesota Timberwolves is virtually a night off, so they sleepwalk through the first three quarters and come alive in the fourth. Let's hope the Timberwolves can outwit a few of their upcoming opponents at the Target Center! Buy Timberwolves Tickets today!

Timberwolves become roadkill as they lose five straight

By Timberwolves Fan N. Backus (01/02/2008 09:45 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves went on the road over the last week and once again proved their inability to play solid fourth quarter basketball. The Wolves played the New Orleans Hornets, the Golden State Warriors, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Seattle Supersonics and the Los Angeles Clippers - and lost all five games. No game was particularly close down the stretch, except for the brief comeback at Golden State last Wednesday. The Clippers game looked like another chance for the Wolves to get a rare victory, but another fourth quarter collapse was solidified by the Wolves getting outscored 32-12 in that quarter.

Timberwolves on long road trip

By www.timberwolvestickets.com webmaster (12/26/2007 02:31 PM)

The Target Center will be pretty quiet this week as the Minnesota Timberwolves are on a 5 game road trip that will take them to New Orleans and then out to the West Coast to play the Golden State Warriors, Portland Trailblazers, Seattle SuperSonics and the Los Angeles Clippers.

The next Target Center home game for the Timberwolves will be on January 2nd 2008 vs Portland again. Let's hope if the Wolves get shut down on the road, they can come back to the Target Center and defend their home court. Timberwolves fight back and win at Target Center 12/22

By Timberwolves Basketball Fan (12/22/2007 12:05 PM)

Timberwolves Basketball JerseyThe Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Indiana Pacers last night at Target Center 131-118. Call it a present for Timberwolves fans! Antoine Walker put on a stellar show for Timberwolves fans with a run of three-pointers that helped propel the Timberwolves into the lead. The victory ended the Wolves' season-high six-game losing streak and put some excitement into an ailing organization.

The Timberwolves came back from a 20 point deficient at one point and had a little fun along the way. Antoine Walker, Craig Smith and Gerald Green came off the bench and combined for 47 points, led by Walker's 23. Al Jefferson had 29 points and point guard Sebastian Telfair matched his career high with 27 points and played all 48 minutes with great heart.

Timberwolves back to losing ways

By Timberwolves Basketball Fan (12/14/2007 12:45 PM)

This Timberwolves fan thought that the Phoenix Suns win would give the Timberwolves some confidence to win again, but the Minnesota Timberwolves are back on a losing streak losing to both Washington Wizards and the Philadelphia 76ers on the road. The TWolves sit at 3-15, definitely the worst team in the NBA.

Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns

By Timbewolves Stunned Fan (12/12/2007 03:43 PM)

In what seemed like an impossible task, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Phoenix Suns at the Target Center on Saturday night 100-93. The Suns are power ranked 3rd in the NBA Power Rankings and the Timberwolves are...last, of course. I guess anything is possible at the Target Center so buy your Timberwolves tickets today!

Timberwolves lose again and again

By Timberwolves Fan (12/07/2007 02:38 PM)

It would be nice to have positive Minnesota Timberwolves news to report, but the Timberwolves are on a 5 game losing streak. The Wolves lost to the Dallas Mavericks 103-109 and then to the San Antonio Spurs 91-106 in an embarrassing defeat at the Target Center. The Timberwolves moved into December with higher hopes, but immediately lost in Memphis to the Grizzlies 80-109 and then another home defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers 95-116.

The Timberwolves extended their losing streak last night when they lost to the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta 89-90 after Joe Johnson made an 18 foot buzzer beater for the Hawks.  The Timberwolves have come so close to beating the Hawks twice this season, but just can't seem to close the deal.  Up next: Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns at the Target Center.

Timberwolves win first road game

By Timberwolves Tickets (11/28/2007 04:16 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team appreciated the change of scenery Monday night as they beat the New Orleans Hornets in New Orleans 103-94. After the embarrassing loss to the Hornets two Saturdays ago at the Target Center, the Wolves were looking to gain a little self respect.  Sebastian Telfair was a welcome sight and combined with Marko Jaric the pair scored over 40 points. It was the first road win for the young Timberwolves team who stand at 2-10 in the NBA regular season.

As a sidenote, the Boston Celtics with Kevin Garnett have only lost two games this season.

Timberwolves fold in the second half and lose another game at Target Center

By Twolves Basketball Fan - Kristy (11/24/2007 11:47 PM)

TimberwolvesTickets.com would like to thank Kristy C. for sending us her comments about the Timberwolves Hawks game:

"I had the opportunity to go the Timberwolves Hawks game tonight and it was a sad sight to see Wolves fold in the third and fourth quarter. The boys in blue looked so strong in the first half, I thought we were on our way to our second victory, but the team failed to show-up in the second half.  I was amazed at how calm Randy Wittman was during the second half as the Wolves squandered away a double digit lead. If I was him I would have been yelling and pacing and sweating, maybe not Bobby Knight style, but for sure I would have been in Ryan Gomes face asking why he can't get the ball in the basket and I would like to know if Greg Buckner realizes this is the NBA and you need to play a little bit more aggressive, move your feet Buckner, move your feet!  It's a good thing the Wolves are heading out of town for a pair next week because I don't think I can sit through another game at the Target Center."

Timberwolves lose three in a row

By Timberwolves Basketball Fan (11/22/2007 04:22 PM)

The Timberwolves have officially entered suckville. The Wolves have lost their last three games and they have all been on the Target Center court! The Wolves lost to the Washington Wizards 89-105 in a game they could have should have won. Then they lost to the New Orleans Hornets 82-100 in a game where they looked more like a high school team than an NBA team and then to top it all off they let Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers walk all over them last night losing 86-97. James scored 45 points! Hello, do the Timberwolves know how to play defense in the NBA? Double team James already! The Wolves need to shut down the big guys or they will never have a chance at winning in this league.

This Timberwolves fan just keeps asking, what will it take for this young team to win? They just don't appear to be firing on all cylinders right now.  Happy Thanksgiving Timberwolves fans, let's just be thankful we don't have to watch a Timberwolves game tonight.

Timberwovles get their first win

By Timberwolves Tickets (11/15/2007 09:17 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves won their first game of the season beating the Sacramento Kings 108-103 at the Target Center. One of the Timberwolves main goals has been to defend their home court and last night they did. Rashad McCants scored a career-high 33 points on 13-for-22 shooting. The game was close and the Kings even had a one point lead with less than 6 minutes to go, but the Wolves did something they haven't done all NBA season, they found a way to finish the game on top.

Antoine Walker helped McCants by scoring 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting. Al Jefferson did his part down low, with 23 points and seven rebounds. All in all the Wolves played a good game at the Target Center and it should help boost Timberwolves Ticket sales for the upcoming home games:

Timberwolves vs. Wizards Friday Nov. 16th 7PM

Timberwolves vs. Hornets Saturday Nov. 17th 7PM

Timberwolves start out 0-3

By Timberwolves Tickets (11/07/2007 12:27 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost their first three games of the NBA season. The Wolves dropped the season opener vs. the Denver Nuggets at the Target Center 91-99. The Wolves played hard, but just couldn't seal the deal.  Then, the Timberwolves lost to the New York Knicks on the road in a close battle 93-97.

The Wolves returned to the Target Center last night and lost to the Orlando Magic 103-111. Due to a series of unfortunate events, the Wolves were short three starters - Randy Foye due to injury,  Rashad McCants went down in the first quarter with a sprained ankle and Theo Ratliff was ill and didn't play. The TWolves team could be solid, but it's hard to tell when so many key players are missing.  Coach Randy Wittman has his work cut out for him if he hopes to sell any Timberwolves tickets this season!

Timberwolves sign key players

By Timberwolves Blogger (11/01/2007 09:48 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves signed Al Jefferson to a five-year, $65 million contract extension last night. The contract came just in time for the Minnesota Timberwolves season opener on Friday November 2nd at the Target Center.  Jefferson averaged 17.9 points, 13.4 rebounds and 31 minutes in eight preseason games. His strong physical play is a positive light on this young Timberwolves team. The Wolves also exercised the contract options for next season on guards Randy Foye and Rashad McCants.

Be sure to buy your Timberwolves tickets for the season opener vs the Denver Nuggets. Tip-off is 7pm Friday night at the Target Center.

Timberwolves Trade

By Timberwolves NBA Fan (10/24/2007 06:39 PM)

I was reading my favorite Timberwolves Blog and I see that the Minnesota Timberwolves traded center Mark Blount and guard Ricky Davis to the Miami Heat in exchange for forwards Antoine Walker and Wayne Simien and center Michael Doleac, along with a first-round draft pick and financial considerations.  Timberwolves VP of Basketball Operations, Kevin McHale, is reported as saying the deal was a financial deal in some aspects, but more than anything else it was for the first-round pick and allowing the young guys to develop.

Timberwolves Need Work

By Timberwolves Fan (10/18/2007 02:46 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves have some definite challenges ahead for the new season. Besides being young and inexperienced, the Timberwolves are battling a lot of injuries including tendinitis in star point guard Randy Foye and the sprained ankle of forward Ryan Gomes. Coach Randy Wittman said the injuries aren't cause for long-term concern, but this Timberwolves Fan wonders if we aren't healthy before the season starts then what's to say we will be healthy during the dog days of the long NBA season?

One of the other team concerns has to be execution and handling of the basketball. In the Timberwolves preseason so far, the Wolves are averaging around 23 turnovers a game - that's just too many. Thankfully, the preseason games don't count and the Timberwolves still have some time to work out the bugs on their young team, but not too much time - Opening tip-off is just two weeks away on November 2nd at the Target Center Minneapolis.

Timberwolves Training Camp

By Timberwolves Tickets (10/10/2007 01:54 PM)

I was reading over on the Timberwolves blog that the Minnesota Timberwolves are in their full court press mode of Timberwolves training camp. The Wolves headed overseas for camp and have managed to practice hard in Turkey and even win their first exhibition game vs. Efes Pilsen (Istanbul) by a score of 84-81. The Wolves will square off against the Boston Celtics in London, England today. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and should prove to be a heated battle between the new Timberwovles team and the old Timberwolf Kevin Garnett who will be donning his new Boson Celtics jersey. Timberwolves tickets are always a hot commodity, but you will definitely want to buy tickets early to see the Wolves vs. Celtics at the Target Center on February 8th. Buy Timberwolves Tickets now! Young Wolves may Surprise

By Minnesota Timberwolves Fan (09/27/2007 04:49 PM)

Don't count the Minnesota Timberwolves out before the season starts.  The team is young, but they are pumped and ready to Timberwolves NBAgo. Wolves training camp officially begins Saturday, but many of the young guys have been working and playing together for weeks. These young players have dreams of being the Cinderella team in the NBA this year. In fact the team doesn't like all the media hype about this being a rebuilding year. Wolves vice president Kevin McHale reported, "These guys don't want it to be called rebuilding; these are young guys who are convinced they're going to go out there and win games." The kids in blue may be fun to watch this year so buy yourself a Timberwolves ticket and I will see you at the Target Center!

Wolves sign John Edwards

By Timberwolves Fan (09/20/2007 10:19 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves added 7'0" center John Edwards to their roster today. Edwards has agreed to a one-year deal with the Wolves and should arrive in the Twin Cities next week. Edwards played 40 games with Atlanta in 2006 and in a NBA Development League last season. He's a big guy that should be able to hit the floor running and be able to compete for the Wolves. The Wolves hope John Edwards can fill the void left by Mark Madsen who will be out recovering from shoulder surgery until mid November.  Let's go Wolves!  Timberwolves Training Camp is less than two weeks away!

Timberwolves get to know Target Center

By Timberwolves Tickets (09/12/2007 04:35 PM)

A few of the new Minnesota Timberwolves players have been working out at the Target Center the last few weeks. The players are getting warmed up before training camp and are taking advantage of getting to know one another before the season begins. Kevin McHale hasn't had a lot of one on one training with the guys yet, but he has had some group sessions, including a "big guys" training session where he worked with Al Jefferson, Chris Richard and Ryan Gomes.  The players that are taking advantage of the extra court time say it is really paying off with helping build team chemistry.  If you are hoping for a Timberwolves player autograph, head down to the Target Center some day around lunch time and bring a Sharpie!

Timberwolves Schedule won't be Easy

By Timberwolves Basketball Fan (09/04/2007 09:45 AM)

The 2007-08 Timberwolves schedule is tough. The season does not begin easily for Minnesota. Although they have eight home games November, two of them are against the 2006-07 NBA finalists. November 21st will bring the Eastern Conference Champion Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James to the Target Center Minneapolis to take on Al Jefferson and Randy Foye of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After a tough opening month, the schedule does not ease up for the Timberwolves in December. Only one time during the month do the Timberwolves play more than one home game in a row and a tough five-game road trip finishes out 2007 in New Orleans, Golden State, Portland, Seattle and in Los Angeles to face the Clippers. There will be plenty of basketball stars visiting Minneapolis in December including Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers at the Target Center December 4th and then two-time MVP Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns will test the young Timberwolves' endurance on December 8th.

Check back soon for an overview of the Timberwolves schedule in the new year. Be sure to buy Timberwolves tickets early to the top games. Whether you want to cheer for the home team or for the NBA superstars of the opposing team, the Target Center is a great place to warm up and see a basketball game on a Minnesota winter night.

Eddie Griffin – 1982-2007

By Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets (08/29/2007 02:12 PM)

Eddie Griffin seemed to have infinite potential on the defensive end of the court. When that guy was under the basket, even the best dunkers and playmakers had difficulties in getting the ball over him. I could always count on Eddie making that huge defensive stop when it came down to crunch time. In many cases, the Minnesota Timberwolves fate at the end of a game was determined by if Eddie could make that huge block or not. Eddie won a lot of games for the Wolves this way. He also made a lot of big three-pointers on the offensive end. When the Wolves needed a big, unexpected three down the stretch, Eddie was always ready and willing to pull the trigger. When the Timberwolves coaching staff put Eddie in the dog house, I knew it was probably hurting him. He got into an offensive funk often, but he could always change the course of a game by coming in and making a block. Thank you, Eddie Griffin, for all you gave to the Timberwolves.

Mad Dog on the Mend

By Timberwolves Tickets (08/22/2007 09:45 AM)

Mark Madsen is expected to miss three months after undergoing right shoulder surgery. Madsen injured the shoulder in a jet ski accident. The Minnesota Timberwolves expect to use Madsen in a reserve role for his fifth season with the Timberwolves. Known as an instant energy boost for a team with tired legs, Madsen has been responsible for many shifts in momentum for the teams he has played on, and the Wolves do not want to go without Madsen's assets for long. "Mad dog" is sure to mix it up when he returns. See him up close by getting Timberwolves tickets now.

Telfair Can Play Some Serious Point-Guard

By Timberwolves Tickets (08/15/2007 02:14 PM)

Sebastian Telfair hails from the most traditional of basketball pedigrees. A cousin of Stephon Marbury, Telfair used to play daily street ball with neighborhood kids in "The Garden" a Coney Island baller haven. In organized ball, Telfair became a Lincoln High School legend and became the first point guard ever to jump straight from high school to the NBA. Now he's a Minnesota Timberwolf, and it might be his last chance to prove himself despite the fact that he's only 22.

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Randy Wittman will have the option to play Randy Foye, Marko Jaric, or Telfair at point guard, and Wittman will most likely try to use Foye more at the off-guard spot. If Telfair can play smart and take good shots, he could have a chance to get some serious court time. Once a prodigy, now a man, Sebastian Telfair is going to try and showcase what made him one of the most hyped players in the world.

Wolves get Larger, Lengthier

By Timberwolves Tickets (08/09/2007 09:53 AM)

Ever since the Kevin Garnett era began, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been a predominantly perimeter oriented team. Garnett was the big man, but he would rather shoot the fade-away jumper or top of the key jumper than post up and go toward the basket. Now that the Timberwolves have traded Garnett and acquired smash mouth players like Al Jefferson and Ryan Gomes, the team is moving in a decidedly more physical direction. Timberwolves VP of basketball operations Kevin McHale has always been an inside biased player, and he is finally getting his wish with guys like Jefferson who want to learn his moves. There has been criticism directed at the Timberwolves because they traded away the league's leading rebounder in Garnett, but McHale seems to think rebounding won't be a problem for next year's team with the addition of Jefferson, Gomes and rookie Corey Brewer. "(Those guys) can flat out rebound the basketball," McHale said in a press conference. Get Timberwolves tickets now to see if the team can own the glass this year.

Kevin Garnett Gone

By Minnesota Timberwolves Tickets (08/02/2007 11:54 AM)

Timberwolves NBA Player Kevin GarnettThe Minnesota Timberwolves finally pulled the trigger on trading their franchise player Tuesday, and the face of the team has officially been altered forever. The Wolves acquired forwards Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes, guard Sebastian Telfair and center Theo Ratliff, along with two first-round draft picks and cash from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Kevin Garnett.

Oddly enough, it feels strangely relieving that the Timberwolves have officially entered re-building mode. The team can look forward now, and although a return to the playoffs might not be imminent, things go in cycles in sports, and some would say the Wolves are closer to returning to the playoffs without Garnett than with him. Most promising for the Timberwolves is young Al Jefferson, a 22-year-old 6'10'' forward who averaged a double-double last season to the tune of 16.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg in 69 games. If Jefferson can stay healthy, he could possibly fill up the void Garnett left on the stat page.

In a closely approaching season filled with clouds of doubt, one thing is for certain on next season's Timberwolves team: they will be young and inexperienced, meaning second-year players like Randy Foye and Craig Smith will have to step up pretend to be veterans. It felt like Randy Foye stepped into manhood last season when he was given the opportunity, as he hit a game winning shot against the Portland Trail Blazers, but others, like Corey Brewer and the young players coming over from Boston, need to adjust to being in a Timberwolves uniform.

Hudson is Rapping, Wants to be Hooping

By Timberwolves Tickets (07/26/2007 04:51 PM)

Troy Hudson or "T-Hud" as the Minneapolis rap community knows him by recently hosted a cd release party at legendary punk club First Avenue, but yet he still wants to leave his loyal fanbase in Minnesota to pursue other markets, in both basketball and the music industry. The Associated Press reports Hudson and his agent are working on a buyout settlement with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Hudson's contract still has three years left on it worth about $19 million. If the two sides agree on a buyout, and Hudson clears waivers, he would become an unrestricted free agent, and the Wolves wouldn't have to pay off the rest of his pricey contract. Although T-Hud has become moderately successful in the Minneapolis rap scene, expansion into another NBA city probably would not hurt his marketability.

Timberwolves take Corey Brewer in Draft

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (07/05/2007 09:46 AM)

Timberwolves selected Florida Gator's forward Corey Brewer in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft. Brewer, 6' 9", is known for strong defense, but he can put shots on the board in crunch situations as well. Last season, he averaged 13.2 points per game as the Gators repeated as national NCAA champions.

Minnesota Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale said,"Corey is a versatile player who plays well on both ends of the basketball court. As a two-time champion in college and the 2007 Final Four Most Outstanding Player, he comes with a winning background and plenty of experience in big games. He's a great addition to our young core of talent."

Minnesota's newest Timberwolf will wear jersey #22 and will be a great addition to Minnesota's home court. I am sure Corey Brewer will get a warm welcome at Target Center come fall!

Draft Imminent, Garnett still being Shopped

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (06/27/2007 12:28 PM)

Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss are playing with some serious money and serious manpower in negotiations that started last Friday and are continuing this week. The keystone player involved in talks between the Lakers and Wolves is of course Kevin Garnett, but the Lakers are talking about sending over Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum to the Timberwolves in exchange. That trade would most likely involve the Lakers 19th pick in this years draft as well, but Timberwolves general manager Kevin McHale has voiced distaste because the pick is too high. The Timberwolves and Lakers had brought in the Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics into negotiations last week with the possibility of a four-team deal but those talks collapsed when Boston wasn't happy with what they would receive in the trade. Now this week the Timberwolves and Lakers are directly talking without the other two teams. If a trade is going to happen involving draft picks, it better happen soon because the draft is on Thursday night.

Judging from all this maneuvering between Taylor, McHale and Buss, the Timberwolves seem extremely intent on moving Kevin Garnett. The front office is persistent in offering deals with a number of teams, and if Garnett doesn't move from the Timberwolves this offseason it would most likely be considered a failure by the front office.

Wolves Swap James, Reed for Howard

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (06/20/2007 09:46 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves put one of their unhappy guards out of his misery last week as they sent Mike James to the Houston Rockets in exchange for forward Juwan Howard. Rarely used Wolves forward Justin Reed was thrown into the deal. The move was sorely needed by the Timberwolves, as they were looking for some way to balance their guard overloaded roster. Howard, a 6-9 forward, provides the Timberwolves with adequate size and has had decent career numbers of 16.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 35.1 minutes per game over 951 career games. In 1995-96, Howard had a career year, averaging 22.1 points and 8.1 rebounds.

The double-double potential that Howard has will help out the lack of rebounding that the Timberwolves have gotten from Mark Blount over the last two years. Mike James departure solidifies Randy Foye's growing role with the Timberwolves - Foye is expected to start at point guard next year. James was one of a number of guards unhappy with his role of coming off the bench behind Foye once Foye landed the starting job about midway through the season.

Sichting on Board Once Again

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (06/13/2007 01:05 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are returning to a more successful past by rehiring Jerry Sichting back onto the coaching staff. Sichting spent 10 years with the Timberwolves from 1995-2005, or virtually the whole Kevin Garnett era. Little is known if Garnett and Sichting work well together, but certainly some kind of relationship had to be forged during all of the time they inevitably had to spend together.

Sichting played 10 seasons in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, the Boston Celtics, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks. He began coaching in 1995 for the Wolves under the title of director of scouting and player development. In the same year, Sichting was added as an assistant coach and remained one until the 2005 season. Between his off time with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sichting was an assistant coach at Marquette University.

Jianlian Becoming Increasingly Tasty Pick

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (06/06/2007 09:42 AM)

Yi Jianlian might be a possible draft choice for the Minnesota Timberwolves at seventh overall, but the more teams become exposed to him and his tremendous potential the less the likely the Wolves have a chance at getting him. Whoever drafts Jianlian might be in for a Yao Ming part two marketing campaign. The Wolves franchise might be revitalized with a player like Jianlian, more so than if they drafted a domestic player like Corey Brewer. I can see Brewer contributing like Rashad McCants and Randy Foye have the last two seasons, but he most likely wouldn't be a franchise type of player. With players like big-man Greg Oden and swingman Kevin Durant in this year's trench-deep draft, its going to be interesting where Jianlian goes, because if the lottery teams think Yao Ming redux, how could they pass on Jianlian?

Deep Draft Class Could Reward

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (05/30/2007 09:46 AM)

Wolves Analysts are calling 2007 a deep year in the NBA Draft, and the Minnesota Timberwolves will see just how deep it is with the number seven overall pick.

Traditionally, lottery teams would like to score a top three pick in the draft, but with players like Yi Jianlian and Corey Brewer in this year's potential rookie class, the Timberwolves might have a chance to take a top-tier type player down at number seven. The Portland Trail Blazers, who had the same 5.3 percent chance to obtain the top pick as the Timberwolves, landed the top spot in another lottery-day surprise. The Memphis Grizzlies probably got the rawest deal out of all the teams at this year's lottery. The Grizzlies had the best chance of getting the top pick at 25 percent, but they landed outside of the top three with the fourth NBA draft pick.

Wolves Need Rebounds and Free-Throws

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (05/23/2007 10:55 AM)

Mike Trudell of the Minnesota Timberwolves official site has reported that the Timberwolves are looking to land either a low-post scorer in the upcoming NBA Draft or a slasher type player who is able to get to the free throw line. The Wolves, who have a 18.3 percent chance to get a top three lottery pick, would ideally like to pick up big-man Greg Oden from Ohio State or Texas slasher Kevin Durant. It's about time that the Minnesota Timberwolves get lucky on draft day, as they haven't had too much luck in the past. Timberwolves fans will always remember the 1992 NBA Draft, when the Wolves had the worst record in the league the year prior and were still unable to land the first or second pick in the draft, resulting in the arrival of Christian Laettner to the Timberwolves at the number three pick. A top three sneak-in by the Wolves this year would serve the team well.

Timberwolves Front Office Chemistry

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (05/18/2007 02:52 PM)

Glen Taylor is trying to mix up the Minnesota Timberwolves' front office chemistry by implementing more voices in the decision making process. Along with V.P. of basketball operations Kevin McHale, the Wolves are using the input of general manager Jim Stack, assistant general managers Rob Babcock and Fred Hoiberg, director of player personnel Zarko Durisic and international scout Pete Philo. The added voices are part of an effort to revitalize a Minnesota Timberwolves franchise that has fallen from the best team in the Western Conference to lottery-draft pick participants. McHale will continue to use his method of talking to individual members of the front office without revealing his opinion on a subject. Additionally, Glen Taylor has been trying to play a bigger part in front office meetings. In an interview with the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Taylor said that he will "make sure it works." Taylor's presence at meetings has helped create an atmosphere where ideas can flow freely.

What do the Wolves need?

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (05/09/2007 09:47 AM)

Minnesota Timberwolves assistant general manager Rob Babcock doesn't like players who don't run back on defense and come out of the game with a bad attitude. Isn't this what every coach doesn't like? His 10 things that turn me off to a player list was pretty obvious stuff. I was hoping to read some things that specifically pertain to what the Timberwolves need this year in the NBA Draft on May 22. The Timberwolves look like they want to take a basketball player that has more than the NBA minimum one year of college experience, but they are going to have to take what they can get, especially if they land a lottery pick. I suspect the Wolves would take phenom Kevin Durant with a lottery pick, even though he left the University of Texas after his freshman year.

Babcock’s Review Evaluation Methods

By TimberwolvesTickets.com (05/04/2007 12:45 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves' assistant general manager Rob Babcock is looking at possible draft picks in this year's NBA draft. According to the Timberwolves' official website, Babcock evaluates prospects by 5 categories. The categories are physical characteristics; mental characteristics; skills; basketball athlete vs. basketball talent vs. basketball player; and he has a list of 10 things that turn him off to a player. Babcock has been a general manager, a vice president of player personnel, a director of player personnel and a scout, so it is safe to say that the Minnesota Timberwolves have an experienced voice in who they are looking to draft in this year's first round. The Timberwolves have a good chance to get a lottery pick, depending on when their lottery ball is selected.

Wolves Need Size

By Wendy Wolf (04/26/2007 10:29 AM)

Kevin McHale brought up roster changes in his last Timberwolves press conference.  I think all Timberwolves fans would agree that a roster change is inevitable. I don't see a major overhaul in the works, but I am pretty certain Timberwolves fans can expect a minimum of three players being replaced.  Three people are 25 percent of the basketball roster and I agree with McHale, that three people can make or break your lineup.

I also agree with McHale when he says the Timberwolves need to get bigger across the front. I think the Wolves will draft a big guy to fill the three and/or four position. Defensively, the Timberwolves start out solid, but they definitely need to be bigger to shut down the stars of the other teams. I am looking forward to seeing who the Timberwolves draft and the many changes that are inevitable in the months to come. Minnesota wants a winning basketball team, let's hope McHale can deliver one.

Timberwolves End Season

By Wolves Fanatic (04/20/2007 02:38 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost their 50th game of the season Wednesday night, bringing an end to a season full of confusionMinnesota Timberwolves and delusion for their fans. A notable stat: The Timberwolves were 20-20 when they fired former head coach Dwane Casey on January 23rd. Under replacement coach Randy Wittman, the team went a pitiful 12-30. Admittedly, Wittman played out the last five games of the season without Kevin Garnett or with any resolve to actually win a game, but he also coached the Timberwolves out of a playoff contention. Well, that let's leave this season by recapping some of the highlights:

  • Kevin Garnett's sweet fade-away jumper to win at the buzzer over the Portland Trail Blazers on March 25.

  • Ricky Davis' three-pointer from the corner to beat the Boston Celtics on Feb. 11.

  • The amazing win over the Phoenix Suns on Jan. 29, when Kevin Garnett scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to stave off a Suns team that was on a 17-game winning streak.

Here's to another season of Minnesota Timberwolves basketball, win or lose.

Draft Pick a Possibility

By Wolves Fanatic (04/18/2007 02:17 PM)

With only one game remaining for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season, the team looks to be in prime position to finish with one of the 10 worst records in the NBA. However, the team will still need to see when their lottery ball is picked in order to guarantee them a first round draft pick. Hopefully, if the Timberwolves get a lottery selection in this year's NBA Draft, it will be an exciting player to help complement the young talent that the Timberwolves are building right now with players like Rashad McCants, Randy Foye and Craig Smith. All of those guys will be a year wiser next year and I hope to see marked improvement from them. Maybe an exciting draft pick will help refill some of those Target Center seats and sell some Timberwolves tickets.

T-Wolves Feckless in Denver

By Wolves Fanatic (04/17/2007 02:13 PM)

With Kevin Garnett back in Minneapolis Monday night, a feckless Minnesota Timberwolves team had little chance to compete with a hard-charging Denver Nuggets team that is priming up for a playoff push. Garnett, who has sat out the last three games because of a "sore right thigh," is expected to not play again this year. Although Denver didn't play with the league's leading shot blocker in Marcus Camby, they were still able to silence the Timberwolves offensive attack in the third quarter. In that quarter, the Denver Nuggets went on a 19-4 run to open up the game and put it out of reach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Randy Foye saw a lot of court time for the Timberwolves, but perhaps more unfamiliar to Wolves fans is the amount of Justin Reed they are seeing. Reed scored a team high 19 points and grabbed three rebounds in only 26 minutes. Ricky Davis deferred to teammates for most of the night as he posted 11 assists in 36 minutes.

NBA Player Match-ups Disappoint

By Wolves Fanatic (04/12/2007 11:25 AM)

Okay, so maybe I was wrong about the exciting match-ups in this week's Minnesota Timberwolves NBA homestand. Both Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki were nowhere to be found Wednesday night in the Target Center. I had to be content with getting my heart rate up by skipping around the Target Center concourse and finding better and closer seats mid-way through the second quarter. But after that little fun of evading the Target Center ushers, I came to the realization that both Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki were not going to be playing. Oh well, Randy Foye and Rashad McCants had some fun chemistry and kept the Timberwolves in the game for most of the first half, but then the Dallas Mavericks sans-Nowitzki started hitting just about every three-pointer they took in the third quarter, building a twenty point lead going into the fourth. It was smooth sailing from there for the Mavericks and they easily won 105-88. I have my Timberwolves tickets for Friday's game. Please let me see some Kevin Garnett action.

NBA Player Match-ups

By Wolves Fanatic (04/11/2007 09:45 AM)

I have my Minnesota Timberwolves tickets for Wednesday and Friday's games. Do you? I'm not necessarily hoping for the Timberwolves to win because I want them to get a draft pick next year, but I do want to see some great Western Conference NBA player match-ups. Dirk Nowitzki vs. Kevin Garnett on Wednesday? Tim Duncan vs. Kevin Garnett on Friday? Both of those match-ups are worth the price of admission in themselves. Word on the street is that the Wolves won't give Kevin Garnett as much floor time in these last couple of games, but I'm sure he will be out there at his normal times except maybe in the fourth quarter. But something tells me that Randy Wittman will want Garnett on the floor if the games are close late. Here's to a great home stretch of Minnesota Timberwolves basketball in the Target Center. Let's go and see some barnburners!

Timberwolves at Home in Target Center

By Wendy Wolf (04/09/2007 09:47 AM)

Hey Timberwolves fans, it's time to head down to Target Center this week for three of Minnesota's last four home games of the season. Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors are here on Monday, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday and Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Come see the Wolves in their final big push to win some games before the season ends next week.  This Target Center home stand should be a good one and there are plenty of good cheap Timberwolves tickets available!

James Doesn’t Disappoint

By Wolves Fanatic (04/05/2007 09:12 AM)

Being at the game, I was delighted to learn that Lebron James would be in the Cleveland Cavalier starting lineup Tuesday night at the Target Center. His performance did not disappoint, and it killed the Minnesota Timberwolves. Lebron James scored 31 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out six assists in the Cleveland Cavalier's 101-88 win over the Timberwolves. And it was all at sub-100 percent as James comes back from a sore right knee. There was more cheering for James than the whole Minnesota Timberwolves squad in the Target Center. Fans were dazzled and on their feet after James stole the ball at one point in the second half and finished the play with a spectacular windmill dunk. The Timberwolves were once again unable to defend their home floor, as they fell to 11-23 under Randy Wittman.

Timberwolves Beat Magic

By Wilbur Wolf (04/01/2007 10:52 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves put an end to a three-game skid with a big overtime victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday.  The Timberwolves were paced by Ricky Davis and his season high 36 points which included the Minnesota Timberwolves last 13 points.  Ricky Davis scored the last six points of the 4th quarter and was the only Timberwolves player to score in overtime.  The 105-104 victory kept the Timberwolves five games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.  In an otherwise disappointing season, The Minnesota Timberwolves are 6-4 in games decided in overtime.  That is a pretty amazing feat for an NBA team that has a record of 31-42.  I am simply trying to find the silver lining to an otherwise dismal season.

Timberwolves vs. Heat

By Wolves Fanatic (03/31/2007 10:34 AM)

A Miami Heat team devoid of Dwayne Wade waltzed in and out of the Target Center Friday night with little more than a scratch on them. The Timberwolves could only muster 77 points on 37% shooting while Heat snipers James Posey and Jason Williams were hitting everything kicked backed out to them from Heat centers Shaquille O'Neal and Alonzo Mourning. The Timberwolves playoff hopes have all but faded as they fell 5 ½ games back of eighth place in the Western Conference NBA standings. The Timberwolves head to Orlando Sunday to face a feisty Magic team that is hanging onto the last playoff spot in the NBA's Eastern Conference. There are only a handful of Timberwolves basketball home games left in the season. Don't miss your chance to see Kevin Garnett for the last time in a Timberwolves uniform if some of the rumors are true.

TIMBERWOLVES VS. SUPERSONICS

By Tommy Timberwolf (03/26/2007 07:16 PM)

Kevin Garnett was the hero again with his last second shot at the buzzer to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday at the Target Center.  The Minnesota Timberwolves hope to build on this victory and inch closer to the teams ahead of them in the standings to ensure a trip to this years NBA Playoffs.  Their next contest is with the Seattle Supersonics on March 27th at the Target Center in Minneapolis.  The best news of all is that Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Tickets to this game can be had for as little as $9.00/Ticket.  It is almost getting to the point that it is more expensive to go to a movie than to a Minnesota Timberwolves game.  Don't miss your chance to catch an NBA game for only $9.00/Ticket.  The opportunity to see Kevin Garnett and quite possibly some of his last second heroics is worth the price of admission alone.  GO TIMBERWOLVES!!!

WOLVES ON THE ROAD

By Wendy Wolf (03/19/2007 03:15 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are only two games through a difficult West Coast road swing. The Wolves lost to a hot Golden State squad on Friday night and then again to the LA Lakers on Sunday night. Garnett scored 26 points vs. the Lakes, but Ricky Davis led the Wolves in scoring with 33 points. Davis added six assists and six rebounds, while Mike James threw a season-high 11 assists to go with 18 points. The Wolves remain within striking distance of the playoffs, trailing the Warriors by just two and one-half games.

Up next for the Wolves on their road trip are the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and Seattle Sonics.  Seattle has a worse record than the Wolves and Sacramento isn't much better, so let's hope the Wolves can pull off at least one win before returning to the Target Center.

NINE TIMBERWOLVES HOME GAMES REMAIN

By Twyla Timberwolf (03/15/2007 09:13 PM)

There are only nine home games left in this years Minnesota Timberwolves season.  At this point in the season, I am still confused as to whether I should be cheering for the Timberwolves or hoping that they lose.  On one hand, if they lose they will retain their first round draft pick.  On the other hand, if they win they will go to the NBA playoffs and there is nothing more fun than watching your favorite team play in the playoffs.  If you still consider yourself a Timberwolves fan, there are plenty of Timberwolves Tickets available and very reasonable prices for the last nine games of the season.

EXCELLENT COMEBACK FOR TIMBERWOLVES

By Timmy Timberwolf (03/13/2007 09:59 PM)

I was watching the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Indiana Pacers tonight and towards the end of the third quarter, I was sure that I was witnessing the final nail in the coffin of the Timberwolves playoff hopes.  Just when I was about to turn off the TV for the season, McCants made a great steal and hit a huge 3-pointer at the very end of the quarter to pull the Timberwolves within nine points.  That shot turned out to be a huge momentum changer as the Timberwolves dominated the entire fourth quarter to send the Indiana Pacers to a franchise record tenth consecutive loss.  The game reminded me of something that I read in my favorite Timberwolves Blog.  I definitely think that he was right when he wrote that the "Timberwolves can't decide if they are good."  I just hope that the Kevin Garnett lead Minnesota Timberwolves figure it out soon.

WOLVES LOSE TO HAWKS, LONG ROAD TRIP COMING

By Wendy Wolf (03/12/2007 12:06 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves fell to the Atlanta Hawks Saturday night 93-99. Minnesota was ahead 66-57 on a Ricky Davis dunk midway through the third quarter, but the Hawks went on an 11-0 run that ended with Josh Smith's 3-pointer to give Atlanta the lead.

Kevin Garnett scored 32 points with 10 rebounds and five assists. Garnett looked solid, but the Timberwolves, who have lost eight straight and 11 of 12 on the road are not looking like a put together team. The Minnesota Timberwolves have got to step up the defense on close games if they intend to put anymore marks in the win column.

The Twolves play at home against the Pacers on Tuesday, March 13th and then start a long road trip that unfortunately may end any chances at a playoff spot. See the Timberwolves now before they hit the pavement. Tickets to Tuesday nights game are cheap! You can get Timberwolves tickets for below face value from timberwolvestickets.com - don't pass up the chance to see an NBA game at the Target Center for less than $15! These are prices that can't be beat!

TIMBERWOLVES FACE THE HATED LAKERS

By Tommy Timberwolf (03/06/2007 01:32 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves face Kobe Bryant and the rest of the hated Los Angeles Lakers tonight at the Target Center.  This game is definitely a do or die game for the Timberwolves hunt for an NBA Playoff spot.  I still have not been able to get over the Los Angeles Lakers knocking my beloved Minnesota Timberwolves out of the NBA Playoffs a few years ago.  It really felt like that was the one and only chance that Kevin Garnett would ever have at getting an NBA Championship ring.  From that moment on, I have hated Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Jack Nicholson and everything that has anything to do with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The only good news is that Timberwolves Tickets for this big game are easy to come by and are super affordable.  Don't miss your last chance to see the Los Angeles Lakers this year at the Target Center.  That is of course assuming that the Timberwolves aren't going to make it to the Playoffs this year.  It is hard for me to admit this but maybe I have thrown in the towel.

TIMBERWOLVES FALL TO MAVERICKS

By Wendy Wolf (03/01/2007 01:50 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves were the latest victim of the streaking Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, as Dallas won their 13th consecutive game. The Mavericks (48-9 overall record) showed why their numbers are so terrific, defeating the Wolves 91-65. Though it wasn't the Mavericks best effort of the season, Minnesota just could not get things going offensively throughout the evening. Kevin Garnett had 15 points and 13 rebounds, but overall the team just couldn't knock down the powerful Maverick shots.

Looking ahead, the Minnesota Timberwolves need to really hit the court hard when they play the Jazz on Friday, March 2nd at the Target Center. Wolves fans need to see their team play hard the ENTIRE GAME and score some points on the home court! Go Wolves! Don't give up!

TIMBERWOLVES HOME STAND

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Bobcats last night after dominating most of the game. The 100-95 loss was a definite heartbreaker, but the Timberwolves look forward to playing their next four games on their Target Center home court. Tickets for the Friday night Phoenix Suns game are a hot commodity so fans better buy them quick.  If you are willing to wait and go to next Friday nights game vs. the Jazz, you can get tickets for around $30!

TIMBERWOLVES LOVE THE HOME COURT

By Wendy Wolf (02/14/2007 09:49 AM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Denver Nuggets tonight at Target Center. It's Valentine's Day and love is in the air! The Timberwolves marketing team has dubbed tonight Love and Basketball; for me, that just means I love Basketball and I love it even more at the Target Center.

The Wolves have been hot on their home court lately largely due to Coach Wittmans dedication and enthusiasm for home court victories. When Randy Wittman took over as head coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 23, he made winning at home one of his first priorities. Wittman noted the importance of fans and success at the Target Center, vowing to reestablish a home-court advantage. "We want the Target Center to be an extremely tough place to come into and get a win," said Wittman. "It's very important to have a home-court advantage in the NBA."

Wittman wasted no time in implementing his plans. In his first game at home as Timberwolves head coach on January 29, Minnesota beat the red-hot Phoenix Suns 121-112 to end the Suns' historical 17-game winning streak. In fact, during the coach's short tenure with the Wolves, Minnesota is 3-1 at the Target Center. Their lone loss was a two-point heart-breaker to the Sacramento Kings.

Is winning at home really that important? You bet it is - the seven Western Conference teams with the best home records are holding down the top seven playoff spots. In the Eastern conference, all eight teams with the best records at home would secure a playoff berth if the season ended today and in 2003-04, arguably the Timberwolves best season, Minnesota posted a 31-10 record at the Target Center. Conclusion, you must win at home to be successful in the NBA!

Be sure to take your sweetheart to tonight's home game and watch the Timberwolves prove that the hometown hardwood is better than anywhere else! Go Wolves!

RANDY FOYE MEETS THE POLICE

By Wendy Wolf (02/13/2007 09:11 AM)

Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Randy Foye was cited early Monday for disorderly conduct after Minneapolis police found him involved in a fight outside a Minneapolis gas station just a few miles from the Target Center. According to the police report, officers responded about 2:40 a.m. to a witness report of a scuffle outside of a closed gas station. The police found four people in a fight next to a parked sports utility vehicle, reportedly belonging to Foye.

Foye, speaking to reporters in a conference call Monday afternoon, said he was driving when two of his younger cousins started arguing, prompting him to pull over and tell them to get out and settle the matter. The citation, Foye said, was for the noise caused by the fight. He apologized to the team and his fans for the negative publicity, but stressed that he did nothing wrong.

"That's not me, and it won't be in the future because I'm much smarter than that," Foye said, later adding: "I had nothing to do with the situation. Basically I tried to stop the situation."

Randy Foye and two others were released after receiving citations, Lt. Amelia Huffman said. A fourth person, Pierre D. Mitchell, was booked into Hennepin County jail for obstructing the legal process after he kicked at officers while refusing to be seated in a squad car.

Let's hope Randy Foye's statement of his commitment to keep his act together is sincere. The Timberwolves need Foyes ferocity on the court, not off.

RICKY DAVIS SAVES THE DAY

By Tommy Timberwolf (02/12/2007 10:14 AM)

If you see Ricky Davis walking down the street give him a big pat on the back.  If it wasn't for him, the Minnesota Timberwolves may have had the honor of ending the Boston Celtics 18 game losing streak.  Instead, Ricky Davis scored 28 points including a jumper at the buzzer to win the game for the Timberwolves by a score of 107 to 109.  Kevin Garnett had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to complete his second triple-double in less than a week.  Those fans interested in checking out Wally Szczerbiak in his return to the Target Center were sent home disappointed.  Wally did not make the trip due to an ankle injury.  There was a standing-room only crowd of 19,538 which was just Minnesota's fourth sellout of the year.

The Timberwolves next home game is against Allen Iverson, Carmello Anthony and the Denver Nuggets on

♥ Valentine's Day ♥  This is a game you won't want to miss!

TIMBERWOLVES VS. GRIZZLIES PREVIEW

By Tommy Timberwolf (02/09/2007 01:13 PM)

The Minnesota Timberwolves did exactly what they were supposed to do last Wednesday by pummeling the Golden State Warriors.  The Timberwolves must now follow that win over a very mediocre team with a win tonight over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies currently own one of the worst records in the NBA and are in the midst of a season full of turmoil.

In order for the Wolves to win tonight, they must contain "superstar" Pau Gasol.  In his last three games, Gasol is averaging 29.7 points on 55 percent shooting.  If they are able to hold Pau Gasol in check, they shouldn't have a problem with the Grizzlies.  However,  as a fan of the Minnesota Timberwolves, I am extremely nervous about the game tonight.  Until last Wednesday, the Timberwolves have made a habit out of playing to the level of their competition.  I sincerely hope that isn't the case tonight.  If you are looking to catch the game on TV, it starts at 7:00 on FSN. Go Wolves!
