Alando Tucker, a powerhouse forward on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster, was born February 11th 1984 in Lockport, Illinois. From an early age this Midwest Native knew that he wanted to play basketball, his 6 foot 6 inch frame didn’t hurt either. Alando Tucker got his start playing competitive basketball at Lockport Township High School where he distinguished himself as a standout player who had both the size and skill to go far in the game. After high school Alando Tucker went to the University of Wisconsin Madison to play basketball as a Wisconsin Badger. In his true freshman year, Alando Tucker saw game time in 32 games. After a medical red-shirt the next season, Alando Tucker continued to see substantial game time at Wisconsin, becoming a true team leader. In 2007, his last season of college basketball, Alando Taylor broke the University of Wisconsin all time scoring record with 2,147 points.
With his college career accomplishments it was no surprise when Alando Tuckers was the 1st round 29th overall draft pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Selected by the Phoenix Suns, Alando Tucker started his professional basketball career by playing two games with the Suns. Alando Tucker then spent the 2007-2008 season going back and forth between the Phoenix Suns and the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, an NBA development league team. Then Alando Tucker was assigned to the roster of new D-league team affiliated with the Suns, the Iowa Energy, after a short season with the Iowa Energy he was called back to play with the Suns.
On December 29th 2009 Alando Tucker was traded from the Suns to the Minnesota Timberwolves with a second round draft pick and cash considerations for Jason Hart. Alando Tucker quickly fell into pace on the Minnesota Timberwolves roster and has been working hard to make a name for himself in the growing Minnesota Timberwolves Franchise.
