Team Member Information
SIGNED WITH GREEK TEAM ARIS BC JULY 2007.
Bracey Wright was born July 1, 1984 in The Colony, Texas. Wright attended The Colony High School in The Colony. He played collegiate ball at Indiana University where he led the Big 10 in scoring with 18.3 points per game. Wright was named First Team All-Big 10 by the media and posted a season-high 32 points vs. Michigan State. He only missed three games due to an ankle injury.
Wright was a member of the 2004 USA World Championship for Young Men Qualifying Team that went 5-0 and captured the gold medal, qualifying the United States for the 2005 FIBA World Championship for Young Men. He also participated in the 2002 USA Junior National Team trials and was a member of the 2001 USA Basketball Youth Development Festival South Team that finished with the bronze medal.
Bracey Wright was drafted in the second round by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2005 NBA Draft. The Timberwolves designated him to the Florida Flame of the D-League for the 2005-06 season. In the 2005 Minnesota Summer League Wright averaged 7.7 points per game. He missed two Summer League games due to sore ankles, but was still ranked sixth on the team in scoring and fifth in assists.
The Timberwolves exercised Bracey Wrights contract option on June 30, 2006 which means he will remain on the team's roster for the 2006-07 season. It will be interesting to see what the Minnesota Timberwolves will do with this young player. Bracey Wright has solid ability, but isn’t quite the strong leader that the Minnesota Timberwolves need from their freshmen players.
