Calvin Booth was born on May 7, 1976 and played college basketball at Penn State University. In the 1997-1998 season, Calvin Booth won the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award for his strong playing on the court.
After graduating from Penn State, Calvin Booth was drafted by the Washington Wizards in 1999. His rookie season got off to a rough start; due a strained hamstring he missed the first 71 games of the season. Over the course of 11 games he ended up playing, Calvin Booth averaged 3.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.27 blocks per game.
Calvin Booth spent the next season with the Washington Wizards before leaving for the Seattle SuperSonics. In the 2002-2003 season, Booth slightly improved his average to 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds. He played in 47 contests. By 2003-2004, Booth was 23rd in the NBA for total blocks and had 35 starts with Seattle.
By 2004-2005, Calvin Booth was on the move again. He was traded to Dallas, and partway through the season, he was handed off to the Milwaukee Bucks. By 2005-2006, Calvin Booth was back with the Washington Wizards and averaged 1.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Booth appeared in 33 games with 2 starts.
In 2006-2007, Calvin Booth was back for his eighth NBA season and he competed in 44 games with a single start. He also played in Washington's playoff competition against Cleveland. During his 2007-2008 season, Calvin Booth was part of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Calvin Booth is married with two young children. He plans to pursue a coaching career or basketball operations after he is done with playing pro ball.
