Kirk Snyder hails from Upland, California and the 2008 season marks his 4th in the NBA.
After a strong high school career, Kirk Snyder was a member of the Nevada Wolfpack basketball team. By 2004, Kirk Snyder was a key leader of the season, which culminated in a sport in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Although the team didn't advance far, they had a repeat in 2005 and made it beyond the first round to lose to Illinois.
Kirk Snyder was part of the 2004 draft. He went to the Utah Jazz as the number 16 overall, first round pick. After spending an unremarkable season on the Utah Jazz, Kirk Snyder was traded to the New Orleans Hornets.
As a New Orleans Hornet, Kirk Snyder was a strong starter. During one game, for instance, he scored 28 points singlehandledly against his future team, the Minnesota Timberwolves. After the season, Kirk Snyder was traded to the Houston Rockets and then to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
