Michael Doleac was born on June 15, 1977 in San Antonio, Texas. The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Doleac on October 24, 2007. So far this season, Doleac has seen limited time with the Wolves. He has played in only nine games thirty games in. In 11.3 minutes a game, Doleac is averaging 1.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and .56 blocks.
Michael Doleac’s best season in the pros was perhaps 1999-00, when he averaged seven points and 4.1 rebounds in 29 starts while playing 81 games. In his career, Doleac has averaged 5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 563 regular season appearances and 76 starts.
As a nine-year pro Michael Doleac is a solid free-throw shooter with three-point range as a big man. He enjoyed his best stretch as a pro in 1999, when he scored in double figures in five straight games. Doleac has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Miami Heat, the New York Knicks, the Denver Nuggets, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic. Doleac was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
Michael Doleac attended the University of Utah and enjoyed an exceptional college career. In his four seasons at Utah, Doleac averaged 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor and 40.4 percent from three-point range. He led the Utes to the NCAA championship game in 1997-98. Michael Doleac enjoyed an excellent NCAA Tournament that season, averaging 19.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in Utah’s six games in the Tournament. His performance garnered him All-Tournament Team honors.
Michael Doleac was a biology major at Utah and aspires to go to medical school after his NBA career. His hobbies include playing guitar, reading and fishing in his free time. Doleac wasn’t even recruited out of high school but went to Utah after attending a summer basketball camp.
