Ryan Hollins was born October 10, 1984 in Pasadena, California. Ryan Hollins started his basketball career at John Muir High School . After an impressive junior and senior season at John Muir, Ryan Hollins was signed to St. Louis University but was allowed to withdraw his letter of intent after the head coach at St. Louis University went to Washington University.
Ryan Hollins ended up playing college basketball for the UCLA, where he saw significant game time for all four years. His career average at UCLA was 5.5 points a game and 4 rebounds. Ryan Hollins was also a track star in college and was a huge competitor in the NCAA high jump.
In the 2006 NBA Draft Ryan Hollins was the 100th UCLA player to be drafted into the NBA. Ryan Hollins was a second round pick for the Charlotte Bobcats. Hollins played 27 games with the Bobcats and averaged just under 3 points a game. After several trading power plays, Ryan Hollins started the 2009-2010 NBA season as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves roster. Supposedly the MN Timberwolves offered Ryan Hollins a 3 year $7 million dollar contract.
